Seung Sahn International zen center Musangsa is open to anybody who seeks true meaning of life and its direction disregarding race, religion, nationality and age. Musangsa walks together with you on the Boddhisattva path. Musangsa is a meditation practice located at the foot of the spectacular Gyeryongsan Mountain
in Gyeryong-si, Chungcheongnam-do in South Korea.
Please maintain a quiet atmosphere in the Temple.

How to get here locally
  • By Train
    This is probably the most convenient way to get here. The nearest train station is Gye-Ryong (on the Ho-Nam line), about 1 or 2 and half hours from Yongsan Station
    If you plan to come by train, please note that the weekends and national holidays are very busy travel times so you should book or buy your tickets well in advance.
    From Gye-Ryong it is a short taxi ride of about 20 minutes to Mu Sang Sa and the cost should be between 7,000 to 8,000 Won.

 Also there is an intra-city bus between Musangsa and Gyeryong Station

  • By Car
    From the Seoul-Busan Expressway No.1, take the Ho-nam Go Sok Doro (Ho-Nam Expressway No.251) towards Yuseong and Kwangju and exit at the Gye-Ryong interchange.


    You can follow the Musangsa sign to Musangsa.

  • by Bus
    There is an express bus service from Seoul Nambu terminal that goes to the Shindo-an(Gyeryong-City) bus stop near Eomsa-myeon.

    It takes about 2 hours 30minute. You should get off at the third stop Eomsa-Sageori, from there, you can take a taxi from the taxi stand outside Tous Les Jours bakery to Mu Sang Sa.

    It takes 10 mins and costs 5,000 Won.

  • Travelling To Mu Sang Sa By Train/Bus Via Daejeon
    Train
    Take the train to Daejeon station. Across the road from the train station is the bus stop for buses no. 2002. Take this bus to Eomsa-myeon and get off at Eomsa-Sageori Bus Station – a journey of about one hour or about one and a half hours. From there, you can take a taxi from the taxi stand outside Tous Les Jours bakery to Mu Sang Sa. It takes 10 mins and costs 5,000 Won.


     

    Bus
    Take the bus to Daejeon Terminal Complex. There is a city bus stop outside the Daejeon Terminal Complex (대전 복합 터미널). Take the No.2 bus to Daejeon station. There transfer 2002 bus to Eomsa-myeon and get off at Eomsa-Sageori – a journey or about one and a half hours. From there, you can take a taxi from the taxi stand outside Tous Les Jours bakery to Mu Sang Sa. It takes 10 mins and costs 5,000 Won.

How to get from Incheon International Airport direct to Mu Sang Sa in Eomsa-ri town (Gyeyong-shi)
  • Incheon Airport to Eomsa
    The quickest and easiest way is to take a direct bus from Incheon Airport to Eomsa, a small town 5 minutes away from Musangsa by car.

    There are two terminals at Incheon Airport; At Terminal 1, you need to get to the bus stop 11B, near 11B exit. At Terminal 2, go to bus stop 6.

    The bus is a 28-seater premium bus. 
Once you get off at Eomsa (best to ask the bus driver in advance to stop there), you will find yourself at the crossroads and will be able to see a taxi stand across the road. There you can take a taxi to Musangsa for 5,000 Korean Won.


  • Take a bus at Incheon International Airport to Daejeon
    The airport express bus stop is located outside the “Arrivals” level, bus stop 9D outside exit 9. Please check the signs to ensure you wait at the correct stop as they can change the location. You can buy a ticket at the bus stop.


    There are English signs on the bus and the driver speaks very limited English.



    There are three stops in Daejeon:
    i) just after the Lotte Hotel in Daedok ,
    ii) Gov’t complex Daejeon and
    iii) Daejeon Terminal Complex . You should get off at the second stop after the bus leaves the expressway, which is Gov’t complex Daejeon, Dunsan-dong. Ask bus driver to drop you off at Gov’t complex Daejeon, Dunsan-dong:

After you get off the bus near the Gov’t complex Daejeon in Dunsan-dong, Daejeon, take a taxi.

    This is the most convenient way.
Travel time is about 40 minutes if no traffic, cost approx.

    KRW 40,000. Eo msa-ri(Gyeryong-shi) town is near a large military base called Gye Ryong Dae. If the taxi driver does not know where Mu Sang Sa Temple is, here is Musangsa address and Phone Number

  • Or take a bus at Incheon International Airport to Yong San train Station in Seoul to GyeRyong ST
    The bus stop 6A, 12B. Buses start at 5:50 am then a half-hourly bus service until 10:40pm.


    Travel time is about 1 1/2 depending on traffic. The bus fare is 14,000 won From Yong San train Station take a train to Gye-Ryong station.


    The nearest train station is Gye-Ryong (on the Ho-Nam line), about 1 or 2 and half hours from Yongsan Station. If you plan to come by train, please note that the weekends and national holidays are very busy travel times so you should book or buy your tickets well in advance.

  • Or take a bus at Incheon International Airport to GwanMyong train Station in Seoul to GyeRyong ST
    Take a bus from Incheon Airport to Gwangmyeong Station and take the KTX from Gwangmyeong Station to Gyeryong Station.

    The limousine from Incheon Terminal 1 to Gwangmyeong Station is 6770, and at the boarding hall 6A-2, the first bus departs at 6:30 am and the last bus departs at 23:03, and takes 50 minutes. The dispatch interval is 15 on weekdays and 30 minutes on weekends.

    The limousine from Incheon Terminal 2 to Gwangmyeong Station is 6770, boarding hall 25, the first bus is at 6:10 am, and the last bus is at 22:40. It takes 70 minutes and the interval is 15 minutes on weekdays and 30 minutes on weekends.

    After getting off at Gwangmyeong Station, take the KTX and get off at Gyeryong Station. Gwangmyeong Station and Gyeryong Station operate 8 times a day, with the first train at 6:27 and the last at 21:27.
