How are brightness and darkness not separate from one and other?

Q: The 11th patriarch of Zen in India said: “delusion and enlightened is like hidden and revealed, brightness and darkness are not separate from one another. So how are brightness and darkness not separate from one and other?
Zen Master Dae Bong Sunim’s answer.
If you make light, you have dark.
If you make dark, you have light.
If you HIT!
No dark, No light.
Then you are not hindered by dark or light.
If dark comes, use dark to help others.
If light comes, use light to help others.
