In what way can we practice with our suffering?
by Zen Master Dae Kwan
Zen Master Dae Kwan: You have to ask “how am I going to end this suffering?” This question is very important. If someone tells you what to do (about your suffering) it doesn’t work. (The answer) it has to come from your guts. Like for instance (you say) this suffering I got, what is this, what am I, what shall I do? You have to ask these questions. Just wanting to end the suffering cannot help you. These questions bring you back to your before-thinking. This before-thinking can give you an answer. We call it don’t know.
