Seung Sahn International zen center Musangsa is open to anybody who seeks true meaning of life and its direction disregarding race, religion, nationality and age. Musangsa walks together with you on the Boddhisattva path. Musangsa is a meditation practice located at the foot of the spectacular Gyeryongsan Mountain
in Gyeryong-si, Chungcheongnam-do in South Korea.
Please maintain a quiet atmosphere in the Temple.

How to get here locally
  • By Train
    This is probably the most convenient way to get here. The nearest train station is Gyeryong (on the Honam line), about 1 hour and 20 minutes (KTX) or 2 and half hours from Yongsan Station.
    *If you plan to come by train, please note that the weekends and national holidays are very busy travel times so you should book or buy your tickets well in advance. Korail website
    From Gyeryong it is a short taxi ride of about 20 minutes to Musangsa and the cost should be about 11,000 Won.

 Also there is an intra-city bus between Musangsa and Gyeryong Station

  • By Car
    From the Seoul-Busan Expressway No.1, take the Honam Go Sok Doro (Honam Expressway No.251) towards Yuseong and Kwangju and exit at the Gyeryong interchange.
  • by Bus
    There is an express bus service from Seoul Nambu terminal that goes to the Shindoan(Gyeryong-City) bus stop near Eomsa-myeon.

    It takes about 3 hours. Travel time may vary depending on traffic conditions. You should get off at the third stop Eomsa-Sageori, from there, you can take a taxi from the taxi stand outside Tous Les Jours bakery to Musangsa. It takes about 10 mins and costs around 7,000 Won.

  • Travelling To Mu Sang Sa By Train/Bus Via Daejeon
    Train
    Take the train to Daejeon station. Across the road from the train station is the bus stop for buses no. 2002. Take this bus to Eomsa-myeon and get off at Eomsa-Sageori Bus Station – a journey of about 1 hour or about 1.5 hours. From there, you can take a taxi from the taxi stand outside Tous Les Jours bakery to Musangsa. It takes 10 mins and costs around 7,000 Won.

    Take the bus to Daejeon Terminal Complex. There is a city bus stop outside the Daejeon Terminal Complex (대전 복합 터미널). Take the No.2 bus to Daejeon station. There transfer 2002 bus to Eomsa-myeon and get off at Eomsa-Sageori – a journey or about one and a half hours. From there, you can take a taxi from the taxi stand outside Tous Les Jours bakery to Musangsa. It takes 10 mins and costs around 7,000 Won.

How to get from Incheon Airport to Musangsa
  • Incheon Airport->(Direct Bus)-> Gyeryong city
    Get the bus from Incheon to Gyeryong (fee is around 31,300 Won). There are buses at 07:10am, 11:20am, 5:00pm Depart from ICN Terminal 1.* Please note that the time and fare mentioned above may be subject to change by the bus operator, so visit the Incheon Airport Website.

Incheon Airport Bus Service

    After arriving at Gyeryong city (Geumam bus stop, the last stop), take a taxi to Musangsa. (fare is around 10,000 Won)

  • Incheon Airport->(Bus)->GwangMyongTrainStation->(Train)->GyeryongTrainStation
    Get a bus to Gwangmyeong train station: Bus 6770. Buses run approximately every 20-30 minutes from 6:25 AM to 10:30 PM (for Terminal 1) and cost 16,000 Won.     After arriving Gwangmyeong Train Staion. Take a train to Gyeryong Train Station (runs 8 times a day, takes about an hour). Fare is around 23,400 Won (Tips: show the bus ticket from Incheon to Gwangmyeong will have 20% discount). For more information, please visit the Korail website.

    After arriving Gyeryong Train Station, take a taxi to Musangsa: Taxi Fare is around 11,000 Won.

  • Incheon Airport ->(Bus)-> YongsanTrainStation ->(Train)-> GyeryongTrainStation
    The bus number 6001 route goes to Sinyongsan Station. From Sinyongsan Station, it is a five-minute walk to Yongsan Station. The bus runs approximately 78 times a day from 5:29 AM to 11:09 PM (based on Terminal 1), and the fare is 17,000 Won. The journey takes around 1 hour and 10 minute, depending on traffic conditions.     From Yongsan train Station take a train to Gyeryong station.

    From Gyeryong it is a short taxi ride of about 20 minutes to Musangsa and the cost should be around 11,000 Won. 

  • Incheon Airport->(Bus)->Daejeon->(Taxi)->Musangsa
    You can buy a ticket to Daejeon at the airport bus stop and take an express bus. The bus operates 63 times a day, and tickets can be purchased on-site. This is the next most convenient option, after the direct bus to Gyeryong city. The journey takes approximately 3.5 hours, but this can vary depending on traffic conditions. Incheon Airport Bus Service

    There are four stops in Daejeon:
    1. North Daejeon IC, 2. Daejeon Doryong, 3. Daejeoncheongsa (Daejeon Government Complex), and Daejeon Terminal Complex . You should get off at the third stop after the bus leaves the expressway. Ask bus driver to drop you off at Daejeon Cheongsa Station. From there, taking a taxi to Musangsa will take approximately 50 minutes and cost around 30,000 Won.

    If you get off at the final stop, Daejeon Bus Terminal Complex, the journey to Musangsa will take about 1 hour. Travel time and fare may vary depending on traffic conditions. *Please note that when traveling from Musangsa to the airport, it is recommended you use the Daejeon Bus Terminal Complex to avoid confusion.
