DESCRIPTION:Musangsa Templestay offers a cultural immersion program where participants can experience meditation and culture amidst the serene beauty of a harmonious temple in nature. \nTemple Arrival: If you arrive in the temple before 2:00 PM\, you can rest and wait in the large room on the first floor of the office building or take a walk\, and then meet the temple House Master on the first floor of the office building at 2:00 PM sharp on Saturday. \nIf you cannot arrive by 2:00 PM or have to cancel your participation due to unavoidable reason\, you must notify the Musangsa office or the person in the temple whom you have been communicating with\, ahead of time. \nConclusion of Temple Stay: Your temple stay will conclude at 12:00 PM the following day (Sunday). SUMMARY:2025-2026 Winter Kyol Che (Retreat)
DESCRIPTION:“Kyol Che” literally means “Tight Dharma” in East Asia (“結制”). It is a time when monastics have intensive Zen practice for three months\, twice a year (in summer and winter). Every day during the Kyol Che\, there’s sitting Zen that lasts seven to eight hours. Total silence is kept throughout retreats: no speaking. In traditional Korean temples\, bikkhus\, bikkhunis\, laymen and laywomen each use separate Zen halls to sit. At Musangsa\, however\, we all practice together in the same Zen hall\, as is the international tradition at Kwan Um School of Zen\, established by Zen Master Seung Sahn.
